Coalesciendo las taras (live electroacoustic improvisation)

The Tarka Kurawara is an indigenous recorder from Western Bolivia. One of the characteristics of the Tarka is its overtone-rich sound. This sound is traditionally known by Tarkeada musicians as 'Tara'.

Having grown up playing indigenous music in La Paz, I've always been curious about the sonic possibilities of indigenous instruments beyond traditional uses.

For this improvisation, I experimented by dropping 'Tara' sound samples into Coalescence, a Neural Concatenative Multisampler designed by Dillon Bastian.

You can find the recording of this improv also on my Soundcloud.
