About me:
Hello! I'm Gabriel, a sound and music designer from Bolivia, based in Germany.
I started my journey as a kid when I discovered my passion for music while singing in a choir. I studied Guitar and Music Theory at the National Conservatory, and also had courses in Composition and Electroacoustic Music. Additionally, I played with the Experimental Orchestra of Native Instruments (OEIN) and researched traditional Bolivian music, and I am co-founder of the progressive rock ensemble "En Arbol Difunto".
I enjoyed the world of video games since I can remember, but it wasn’t until I played games like Limbo, Journey, and Portal 2 that my ears were fully opened to the creative and aesthetic potential of Game Audio. After finishing high school, I spent the next couple of years learning about audio and game design. I eventually became a guest lecturer for Game Audio at a local University.
In 2018 I won a scholarship to study Audio Design in Berlin, Germany, where I reside today. In 2022, I finished my B.A. as top of the class.
I'm currently working as a sound and music designer for games and animation, with clients from all over South America and Europe. I am also co-founder and organizer of Berlin Game Audio Hangout, a regular event that brings the Game Audio community in Berlin together and aims to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration.
